Why is the Laser Machine the best option for iPhone Back Glass repair?
There are three ways to repair the back glass on an iPhone.
The most common way repair stores will remove your iPhone's back glass is with a heat gun and ripping it off. Apple uses a very strong epoxy glue to adhere the glass to the internal metal frame and requires upwards of 840°F to melt. This is absolutely never recommended for the phone as it's very likely to cause damage to your device. Not only can this cause internal damage, the new glass will never fit properly to the phone's frame because without a laser machine it is nearly impossible to remove all of the glue and have the glass fit flush. This is absolutely not the right way to do it.
The second option is to replace the whole metal frame on your iPhone. This option is very expensive and time-consuming. To replace the metal frame on an iPhone you need to remove all the internal components of the phone and swap it over to a new frame. New iPhone frames are very expensive, and repair shops need to charge hundreds of dollars to cover their labor and part costs. Not only is it costly and time-consuming, but you are also always going to get an aftermarket metal iPhone frame, not an original, which can cause defects/issues in the future.
The third and best option is using a laser machine as we do at We Save Data. Most repair stores do not want to invest in equipment as expensive as this, but we believe it is essential to the future of iPhone repairs. The laser machine burns off the epoxy glue that's underneath the cracked back glass and allows us to safely remove the glass and install a brand new one. Not only does this mean we can perform these repairs quicker, but also much more safely. Once the laser removes all of the epoxy glue from the frame, the new glass can sit perfectly flush with a near factory finish in many cases. Our iPhone back glass repairs only take about 2 to 3 hours after drop-off and are mailed back the next day for our mail-in customers.
